Summary0000049: CE 5.4.2 Exception on next search (WBC2)
DescriptionI am trying to find the addresses of the resources in Warlords Battlecry II - 1.04 beta patch.
I have CE 5.4.2.
I start a search for unknown values (4 bytes int).
Back to the game, let it update the value, back to CE, I select "Increased value" and when I hit next, I get the following error message:

Scan error:thread 0:Access violation at address 004A3550 in module "Cheat Engine.exe". Read of address 7FFA1000.

After the error, the number of search results are reset to 0 and I can continue to use CE - though I will get the exact same error every time after getting this error at least once (I have to close CE and start it again to be able to search again).
Additional InformationIf close CE, and start it again to try again, it will give the except same result (error) every time - sometimes for the first try, sometimes for the second or third - I could not find any system in this behavior.
I am willing to run a few tests if you like, just email me.

Try this:
Open ce
Open taskmanager, select cheatengine.exe , rightclick and choose"affinity"
Deselect all cpu's except one.

Not sure if this fix works for CE 5.4.2 (might be because it's a beta it may still have cpucount hardcoded to 4)

Hi Dark Byte,
I have a dual-core processor.
I have unchecked "CPU 1" - so, "CPU 0" remains; I did this before selecting the process.
I tried searching with my fingers crossed, and ... no, no improvement. I get the exact same result.

this has been fixed a while back in 5.4.3
