hey, can someone explain what code shifting really is?
I have read topics and the tutorial on extalia about it but I am still not really understanding it. All I get is that the dll changes and the code is in the dll.
thx in advance

The game is calling the function or what ever the case may be from a dll file.
And dll files are dynamic.
When the game starts up it allocates memory for the function in a new set of address' that are available.

oh, so code shifting is sort of like dynamic code. similar to the addresses, when the game start up, the code will be randomly put in some location. Am I right?
oh and thx for the reply.

Ok, im learning to mess with this more and more and understand it for the most part. It can be in a dll or a exe.
Example address:
Say the address was 4002187, Then the next time you open the game you get 5002187.
But in CE it tells you the base address or the game.exe is 4000000.
So 4000000-4002187= 2187
So instead of a address you use this in CE. game.exe+2187
What this does is: Uses what ever the base address of the exe is and the 2187 to locate your address that holds health, ammo or what ever you are hacking.
Im still learning about this so i cant really tell you more then i have learned about beating code shifting with CE.
