The cheat engine installer from cheatengine.org seems to be signed by a company called "plooto inc", when launched my pc completely crashed and it seems to be making suspicious communication to AWS servers.
I also opened it up in ida and I see it resolving functions such as get_wine_version, this seems highly suspicious.

plooto inc is ok. The signature matches
your PC crashing I can't reproduce. it works just fine here. Make sure you don't have any games with anti cheat installed, as they will trash your system when they detect CE. Same for overactive anti virus tools.
it makes a connection to AWS servers to download the actual cheat engine installer and download optional third party offers (if you click on accept). If you're on linux there's no need to even show the third party offers as those will fail to install anyhow, which explains get_wine_version

I see, guess I was worried about nothing. Thanks for the explanation.
