Hi, i've got this weird error when trying to click the select process icon cheat engine crash also when I go back to an older version and click select process it says ACCESS VIOLATION and just crash after a while, idk what could cause such a problem so I created this account and post to seek an answer and solve this problem and enjoy using cheat engine again, thanks for your time reading this and wish you could help me out if you know any solution
Just a note I tried a few option but none worked like changing permission but maybe I miss something so i'm open to hear yall opinion and thoughts also this problem happens on 64 bit version of cheat engine and my PC is 64 bit when using the 32 bit version on 32 bit games it's fine but 32 bit version won't work on any 64 bit game

Likely your anti virus

what you can try is go to settings and find the option to get the icons of processes and disable that

I turned off my anti-virus and still getting the same problem
also I can't go to cheat engine setting it also crash or should I try this in older version of cheat engine since I could go to their settings like in 6.4 for example

Sounds like an error when accessing the list of running tasks. Possible reasons beside the mentioned antivirus software:

- Cheat Engine doesn't run with administrative rights
- Security settings in windows like "core isolation" or TPM blocking the access - give it a try without them
- Some DRM software running in background, even if the belonging game isn't started yet. Check the running services (services.msc)
- You have already (tried) to activate DBVM in the settings - if so, try it with windows or VEH debugger first.

Two additional hints beside your topic, for this (and other worldwide) forum(s):

- Use easy language. English ist not everyones native language. Too long and complicated sentences without any breaks are harder to understand.
- Stick to the relevant information. Without being rude, it's not helpful in any kind why you registered or what you had for breakfast. Instead, give useful information like the error code, if given, from your access violation.

Thanks for your answer but

Cheat engine is running with administrative rights didn't fix it
Core Isolation is turned off
and no DRM service is on
I tried DBVM and VEH Debugger still same error when using in 32 bit since I can't get to settings in 64 bit because it crashes the cheat engine

Now about your additional hints:
English isn't my first language, but I'm learning and using it since I'm in an English forum, so I thought it would be appropriate to make a post in the forum main language.
And about the relevant information I didn't notice I was being rude but if I was then I apologize, and I shared my reason to why I created an account to let people know how important for me, it was to fix this stupid issue, but you have a point it was kinda of oversharing from me, and lastly if there were any Useful information I felt that had to be given I would've sent it there's no error code to my ACCESS VIOLATION it's just that without any error code if there were any I would've shared it.

It's also possible that your RAM is faulty. Access violations can happen if the computer tries to access a particular part of the RAM which happens to be faulty. I'm not saying this is the cause, but it's one thing to keep in mind.

I think there was a misunderstanding between you and Cyberfreak. Cyberfreak wasn't calling you rude, but thought they could come across as sounding rude.

What anti-virus are you using?

If still no solution found:
I propose a menu that will work for you until I find a solution.

Download the file and drop it in the following folder;
Right click on the CE icon, select "Open file location" from the pop-up window and put it in the "autorun" folder in the CE folder.

The picture shows the menu name and the window to open.
Just double-click on the process line you want to open from the list.

OMG AylinCE solution worked
I can now select process and use cheat tables but the only problem now is that I can't access setting and use the normal processer thingy but other than that everything else seem fine
hopefully I can find a solution for setting option now since that might be needed in the future, but thanks a lot for the temp solution <3

My humble advice:
Reinstall the CE.
Make sure the processes you select (for 64-bit CE) are 64-bit.
From PC Security settings,
"Allow an app or feature to bypass Windows Defender Firewall"
Click the option and add the CE to this list.

I tried
++METHOS + AylinCE solution that they provided above but none worked.

just to note this problem happens when using 64 bit version, but I could use 32 bit version of cheat engine on 32 bit games just fine
and tried with cheat engine 6.5 still same problem so it's version related issue
and still getting the same problem but at least now it crash instantly before it took couple of seconds so maybe that's a good sign
also thanks for the new menu but only option that work with the menu is ProcessMemory other option crash the cheat engine

Hello
i'm sure my processor is 64 bit 100%
and I did shut down my pc with full shutdown method which was to hold shift while shutting it down, but if it's different i'll try your method

also I tried both command you sent there nothing that seem corrupted and sadly it didn't fix anything but i'll be waiting for more solutions but thanks a lot for trying to help
