Unable to reverse some pointers by hex scan

Hey guys,

How come sometimes I am able to reverse a pointer chain by clicking hex then entering in the pointer and doing a new scan, I can keep doing it until I find the module base address. But sometimes it just doesnt work and wont find any value.
