Hello, I find a interesting game which has a special save data, and I fail to search and modify value real-time with CE. Its name is TTOA(the Throne of Adventurer), which is a single player game written near 2005 to 2009, and last update at 2018. I am quite familiar using solEditor(the one in red color, or green online both) to play around, say Arcuz getting gold gears with +1000. Moreover, I am new to CE, say I can locate memory of a pet or item in some games, either search value or AoB pattern, or using others' script. Well but TTOA, I have no clue about what I am looking at.
TTOA download website:
h!t@t#p://
w$w*w.macer.cc/ttoa/
Location of save file (.sol):
00000001.sol in
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\ttoa-desktop\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash\WritableRoot\#SharedObjects\R8M4LXP9\#localWithNet\##EF4CA407788003FE
Any find is welcome. My last gameplay is like some characters in 45 levels, and some more regions are open, they seems open after every 20 lv interval. I also try my friend's save which is 80+ lv and all regions are open. These saves should still be stored in my computer somewhere and in USBs. Just to replace the .sol can read diff. saved progress. Thus, I think I have played the entire game in the past, this time I would like to explore more about the game and CE. Thanks very much.
-------
more things:
# I think this game is a multi-process that there are 4 TTOA processes in CE viewer.
# I think the .sol is real and direct, meaning it's not a pointer or reference to another file. I can't understand it yeah but, after comparison of lv 1 character, lv 2 lv 20 lv45.. I can try to separate the content in different parts, and edit the parts result in lv change, or other stuff. I can't control it precisely though.
# With CE, I find an increment value, which always add one after each click, say when I move or spend my stats point. It like something used for offset or encryption perhaps?

ActionScript 2 is weird. I recall working on one game in the past where a value was being destroyed and reallocated every time it was written to. After decompiling the swf, there was no fancy obfuscation going on: it was simply the natural behaviour of the AS2 interpreter. You could do a pointerscan for the value (w/ max level only 1 or 2) if you want.
This is a little more advanced than searching and changing simple values or save file editing, but you can grab the swf (`.../ttoa/bin/ttoa.swf`), decompile it (one option is JPEXS ffdec), and change the bytecode to be whatever you want it to be. Since AS2 is interpreted and not jit compiled like AS3, changing the bytecode will have an immediate effect regardless of when it's changed.
Look up "swf decompile" for more information.
