|
|
Hey,
I recently switched from an i7-6700k to an i7-12700k and I've noticed ultimap 2 is running about 10x slower vs when I was on the i7-6700k.
Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, settings need to be changed?
Old specs
16GB ram
i7 6700k
Windows 10
Ultimap 2 was saving data on a separate hard drive in raid 0
New specs where ultimap 2 is running 5-10x slower
32GB RAM
i7 12700k
Windows 11
Ultimap 2 is saving data on separate nvme m.2
Setting - Debugger - DBVM is checked - I also tried lowering Buffer per CPU to 8192 with no luck.
Tried to use Ranges to limit to the desired module results in access violation error.
It takes about 10-20 seconds to process 1% worth of data sometimes even longer 40+ seconds or even a minute or longer.
Limiting CPUs to 8 did not help either.

is there an option in the bios to disable the crap cpu's?
Or try setting ce's affinity to only the good cpu's (but not sure if CE listens to that)

I'd wait with blaming Intel until he tried it on Windows 10.

Could it have something to do with hardware mitigations for Spectre/Meltdown in Alder Lake?

Please do and report back. Thanks!
Also, if there's anyone out there with a i5-12400 CPU, please report how it works for you.
This CPU does not have Ecrap cores.
