Hello, just got an old mac for my first time ever running one and it is very annoying with how limiting it is.
My problem here is that i unzipped the archive given and when i try to install the application, i get the message "CheatEngine73 quit unexpectedly." Waiting a bit longer gives me the "Are you sure you want to open it?" pop up box over the first one and clicking Open does nothing.
I tried renaming the liblua53.dylib file as recommended in the other topic, but the only thing that changes is the second box not popping up anymore.
I can only presume my OS is too old as that has been the case for many many applications, but is there an older version of CE available that might work?

try running it from a terminal using the sudo command , it may give a more clear error

Took a while because i don't know what i'm doing. Spent a lot of time trying to find my password only to be told i didn't have one set. That was fun.
Took just as long to find out how to use sudo right. I failed. Too confusing.
If it's not too much, i would like to ask you to write what i should sudo here. Is it the .app? the .exe inside? Do i copy? Basic google search is very unhelpful to me today.

Edit: i dragged the exe from the package in terminal and pressed enter. it gave me a segmentation fault: 11 message.

command not found.
edit: Up until now i tried to use the app from where it was downloaded. I managed to copy it to Applications, dragged the exe again and pressed enter. It now says Illegal instruction: 4.

-rwxr-xr-x 1 "username" staff numbers

edit: if it matters, the laptop is a 2006 macbook on the lion osx. A lot of things i tried to get require a 10.10 - 10.12 at minimum.
later edit: do you happen to have an older CE version around that work on older macOS? Or do you know if there are any extra settings that can be used on mac or perhaps there is an issue with the unzipping, like changing dates of files and causing an error?
I'm throwing stuff out there because i really have no idea how mac works, but it's what i have to work with.
