Cheat Engine

So I have been trying to get cheat engine to work for a few years now (making a file so I don't have to scan everything after I restart the game). But now I got time and a game (Everspace) to test with. I managed to get pointers to work, well kinda.

I did the pointer scan 6 times to find the offset (Credits, Fuel, scrap, nanites, ore, plasma, and Access key.).

Credits and fuel where located somewhere else, but the other resources I found the pattern for, 8, 18, 28, 38 etc... Access key where harder to find, but after doing a pointer scan I managed to find it. Restarted the game, and everything was fine.

A computer restart later, I started the game to find a better way than doing the pointer scan because that was laborious and took way to much time (Access Key is hard to find, and hard to scan for).

Now the pointers are pointing at the resources but the wrong ones. Gel is Plasma, Plasma is Compound and so on. Fuel and credits is still the same, but I lost Nanites (that's now Dark Energy), and Access key is a random number. I tried to look around the offset to try and find them, but they are just gone.

But how? Why are they switching when I restart the computer and why did I lose some of the values? I used the default of 5 deep scan.

More testing. It seems like the pointers are moving during play. After some time the pointer start to point to wrong values, and I need to re scan the values to find them again. I did a 7lvl pointer scan. But after a time it just changes. Then after some more playing without quiting or anything, it finds the values again, it seems to change random.
