Ok so some games I play will have some problems. It will either have multiple processes in the list. (game is not name of process just used as space holder)
stuff
stuff
stuff
game.exe
game.exe
game.exe
game.exe
stuff
In which case I have actually gone through every one and searched for the value I was looking for, unsuccessfully.
I have tried using the "window list" where there is only one, but also failed.
What it will do is act like it is zeroing in on the correct code the first 2 or 3 "next searches" then it just says "0 found."
Most of these games don't even tell me what type of program it is. It just says "application" or "application (.exe)"
other files in SOME game folders include, rpyc, rpy, pyo, py, and dll. not all but some.
before asked I have tried searching "All" instead of just "4bytes"
have tried searching X2+1 like with rgss3 players
I have even tried searching in binary
NONE worked.

Usually the one which takes the most memory is the correct exe.
If you can't find it, it might be encryptedvalue. Do an unknown searcxh.
If its an online game, the value is more than likely online/server side

Not an online game.
and when there is only one file that has the name of the game it still won't find it. I will even use the windows list and click on the game it still does the same thing.
a lot of games work fine but I have a few that do what I described.
also tried using cheat engine to bring up the process itself still nothing

Like i said above, its that.
Which game is it? I've trained street fighter v/umbrella corps where i have seen this happen and both have the data in the exe taking most memory. So its not that strange a phenomenon, popcap/alawar games a decade ago (not sure if still happening) always had two files running in memory with the one having weird extension always the correct process.

so some use renpy and only have one icon when searching process list (short) and 4 when searching (long). then some use javascript (offline game) and have 4 on (short) list and a lot more on (long) list.
I will search for lets say money and it will have some numbers found not right (example: search 508 and get 43 as number in found section)
but it will still change and tell me "found-10800/found-3978/found-380/found-48/found-0"
sometimes it will have correct number but same "found" sequence.
I am not a computer coding person. so the simpler the better. like "Idiots Guide to Cheat Engine" for me lol

I've seen something similar in one of the newer, java-based games that I looked at. If I remember correctly, I eventually gave up trying to get anything to stick. But, I never deal with java, so my experience with it is very limited.
Try setting up hotkeys to perform your scans so that you do not have to remove focus on the target process. Also, use all data types for your scans, with increased/decreased or changed/unchanged in lieu of exact values. Keep doing that across the four different processes until you find the right process to attach to.

| tried going through all with an "unknown initial number" to start then just increase/decrease used as appropriate and either dwindled down to nothing or the few that were left would change without me doing anything.

| Failure to disclose target and provide confirmation that all aforementioned suggestions were followed leaves us with very little to work with. Bonne chance.

yes tried all suggestions and did as described here
"tried going through all with an "unknown initial number" to start then just increase/decrease used as appropriate and either dwindled down to nothing or the few that were left would change without me doing anything."
I was hoping not to have to share games cause there are several and are adult oriented. but here are two examples:
"Rogue-Like Evolution created by Oni"
and
"My New Life created by Beggar of Net"

| I took a quick look at "My New Life created by Beggar of Net"...you can find money by setting value type to double and searching for exact value. Select the third process down, in the list.

I'm missing something, cause I just did as suggested above and it is still doing the same thing as I described above that.
even tried the other processes just to make sure.

Maybe I was running an older version, and the version that you're running is encrypting the values...
If it's possible to send me a copy, I can take a look at it for you. PM sent.
