Cheat Engine

I'm a bit of a noob, but I've been getting the hang of this. So far I've only been able to find the gold value in the 4byte search (I had to use the "all" search to find it the first time), but I'm having trouble locating the value for lives or health (lives have a numeric on screen value, health is just a bar). The addresses change each time the game gets loaded, so I'm not looking for a table or anything as of yet, just some advice on how to find these things myself. Any kind of real input would be greatly appreciated!

I am willing to bet you would do great at the cheat engine tutorial which will guide you through the process. Just give it a try by selecting help from cheat engine. Once you complete the first few tutorials, you will be able to find those other values you were worried about really quickly!
