The value of bitcoins is derived from the fact that they can be used for anonymous transactions (Basically valuable when trying to conduct black market, tax-free transactions). It's a good way to gain exposure to illegal vice, but if one was hoping the main banking systems (Basically, "everybody") would use this "revolutionary" currency, they're wrong. Banks are adopting the blockchain portion of it, but not bitcoin itself. But yeah, it's a great way to gain exposure to the black market.
