For a long time the CIA ran a program where they saw the potential of psychedelics for hypnosis, a very potent biological weapon that could be used to covertly dose enemies and make them complacent. The program was halted and they could never come up with it.

...or at least, that's what they tell us

Among the substances they used were: LSA (Ergine), LSD (this was very common), mescaline, psilocybin, marijuana, etc

Anybody who has ever been engaged in long term deep meditation or used psychedelics drugs at some point in their life (or both) admit to this phenomena of feeling a vibration of some sort (Thinkers like Tesla and Greek philosophers analogize on this a lot, as does Hindu scripture). On my trips I sometimes "hear" certain frequencies, very similar to the concept of binaural beats. Common type of music that people listen to while high consists usually of a steady, hard, electronic beat.

Which brings me to my final point. I once was in a trance while microdosing, listening to a playlist, then I "woke" when a song I was familiar with came on. This must have been because I "knew" the song, and this caused my brain to get excited in anticipation. This reminds me of how in many fictitious movies and comicbooks, when people practice hypnosis they snap their fingers.

LSA isn't a psychedelic, binaural beats don't work, but the placebo effect does. plenty of other issues with this but w/e
