If you believe the universe was suddenly created from nothing in a big bang.

Then aren't you also a creationist?

You don't "believe in the big bang" you fucking moron. It's a FULL BLOWN THEORY that is supported by EVIDENCE. The Scientific Method doesn't give a fuck if you choose not to believe in the biggest and most commonly accepted scientific theory, you're a child without a sense of what being a scientist really means.

Being a creationist (Christianity, Islam, Judaism) means you support the hypothesis that a bearded man in space made the Earth in 7 days. There is no evidence that supports this.

There isn't a single scientist that says "the universe was created from nothing." They tend to simply state, "I don't know," because no one has any evidence of what the universe was like prior to the big bang. How hard is it to imagine that we don't have a 100% grasp on mathematics that help explain the universe? You're so self assured about your statements and beliefs that you forget you aren't an expert on the subject. Next time before you make a thread on something people already understand (better than you), try doing some research and read what actual scientists have to say on scientific subjects.

Oh look another pseudo-intellectual Kyle shitpost!

The big bang is simply a theory, no different than any other theory. The four most accepted theories on the creation of the universe are the Steady State theory, Oscillating Universe theory, the Eternal Inflation theory, and the Big Bang theory. All these scientific theories contradict each other, so yes, you have to pick a theory to believe in.

The belief of creationalism is discredited (by you) for having the same flaws that the big bang has?

Actually, pretty much every scientist claims that the universe was created from nothing. This fits the exact definition of creationalism, except the factor of a divine power.

I'm not going to bother to explain just exactly how retarded you are by making the equivalence of the big bang theory and other mathematical theories with creationism (Biblical origins, muh feels), it's just a self defeating argument made apparent for all when someone as retarded as you tries to make the case.

And that quote from Hawking you gave fucking EXPLAINS TO YOU better than I could why the big bang happened. The law of gravity invoked The Big Bang because it was inevitable. He doesn't explain how we got gravity or why it's there and how all this came to be, because we don't fucking know.

Stephen Hawking isn't good enough? What about Lawrence Krauss?

most people cant understand the concept of non-existence. something wasn't created for nothing: there was a point where there was not a thing that existed, there is no time in the concept of non-existence. the big bang is the existence of time itself, there was no "time" for it to happen previously.

things cant come from nothing, because there is no time where "nothing" is existent, its just that, its nothing, there was "nothing" before the big bang, the concept of nothing, because the big bang is the explanation of the existence of everything

this is a philosophical concept, having nothing to do with religion or science. it can be applied to it, but thats about it, knowledge of the other two won't help your critical thinking. i suggest reading Boethius's The Consolation of Philosophy

Again, that video you linked still supports what I have been saying this entire time, Krauss just adds a few more facts in there for you to begin to understand. You're just a fucking idiot who can't listen to or read scientific claims and studies properly without invoking religion and creationism. Just give up. You suck at everything you try to do, besides being an inbred-looking republican. You're pretty damn good at that.

No. they are 2 different things.
Some people believe that the universe was created by some kind of superior entity (god) that decided that it would be nice to make the world as we know it and there is no mention about the universe so we assume he also created the other worlds because he is all high mighty.

Some people believe in science and need some kind of logical explanation things. Thus, they try to seek a logical explanation like the big bang theory on which the core elements always existed in an inestable state. It was when the equilibrium collapsed that it generated the big bang and created our universe.

Personally I don't believe in god, so creationism is out of the question for me. As for the other scientific theories, I really don't give a shit about how the universe was created. Believe whatever you want and just stop bitching about it.

jewish media has convinced you to believe in the american dream and to "not give a shit" about important topics because critical thinking and discussion is too hard for normal people. there will be no social or scientific revolutions if everyone just says "just stop giving a shit about x y or z topic".

^ you do know that I live in Peru right? Our education system is completely different. (Even though I decided to study systems engineering I had to take courses on social studies, chemistry, physics, electricity, mechanics, etc. )
Discussion should be fruitful, and 2 persons having a discussion over a subject that they know little of and are subjective at core will not result in any benefit for either part. If your goal is to convince someone that you are right and the other person is wrong, it might be of your interest. But it is not mine.

I can totally see the value of two theoretic physicists discussing about 2 different origin of the universe theories and presenting real arguments supporting each theory, but it is not within my knowledge nor career.
( or a creationists vs an evolutionist like the famous debate that went on american tv not long ago.)
That's the reason why I really don't care about discussion on that topic. I have nothing worth to bring into the discussion.

actually, the quran supports and describes evolution & the big bang soooooo, looks like you're wrong there

btw, scientific theories have been falsified before.

and, in respect to the 7 days thing, general relativity and wormholes are described in christianity and islam.

science and the scientific method are limited. kyle is actually a religious zealot, just doesn't recognise it because he thinks turning science into a religion doesn't count since it's not abrahamic

what also has not been mentioned is that hinduism looks upon this differently

not that awareness arrives from complex organism behavioral designs that were developed over a very long period of the development of matter. that awareness arises from matter.

hinduism looks upon it oppositely; that awareness gives fruit to matter.

the only way for information to exist is for an intelligence to exist.

a famous quote by alan watts goes,
"Just as the ocean 'waves', the universe 'peoples'."
what does that mean to you? what thoughts came to mind?
y'know, waves are actually caused by the gravitational force of a heavenly body, our satellite the moon, onto the object, the ocean
so there's this outside object (moon) directing the object (ocean)

where/what is the analogy, then, for the object (universe) and the outside directing object (???)?
to me, it would have to be "the creator", whom directs the universe.

surat Al-Infitar, aya 7
It is He Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and made you with the right proportions (straightened you up, to walk in an upright position).
