how hard is it to make a decent pillow, meaning comparable to store bought ones, and is it more cost effective?
and what material is good for making it nice and fluffy/breathable, just any filler that can be bought online? cus its pretty inexpensive for 10lb bag of polyester filler

I can sew, its really easy to learn.
That being said, if you are trying to find a cheap solution, nothing beats Chinese slave working force.

| Yea, Chinese people are good for slave labor. I had to retire the other one in my basement for good the other night though.

its about $35 to buy one from china, but the materials are $40 to make two of them (which I want to anyways.) the only thing im worried about is quality but i dont think that will be an issue cus it looks really easy to do (ive already tapered some pants and random other shit so straight lines would be even easier)
im just going to try it myself, should be a fun project. ill make a video while i do it to help others out in the future too if it turns out successful and really inexpensive
i just wanted info on pillows specifically but it seems like they all use polyester inside so it doesnt matter, a 10lb bag at walmart is really cheap and only takes 2.5~lb to make one pillow

| I am using aliexpress, specifically looking for pillow size for dakimakura, 150cm by 50cm. those are all $30~ or have high shipping. I really dont think i can find one for less than the $20 I can make one for

that is the pillow case only not the stuffing, i already have that part, i need the pillow itself (btw the cheaper ones are shittier fabric, which I wouldn't want)
I could insert the stuffing directly into the pillow case but the fabric to close off a pillow is the cheaper part anyways so I might as well make a complete one

oh, a recommendation when buying from aliexpress.
buy from the mobile app, you can get really good discounts that are exclusive to the app.
