Game Settings -> Graphics -> Change Full Screen to Window, Every Game is Like This i guess (at least every game i played)
if this did not help you then google "{GAME NAME} windowed mode"

dxdiag... you mean dxwnd? if you don't know about dxwnd its something you could try out. First thing you should do is go into your graphics options and see if there is an option for windowed mode. 2nd thing you could try is go through your game directory (or anywhere else it stores files (my documents,%appdata%,%programdata%,etc) and see if there are any config files for the game, open them and look for things like fullscreen, or windowed, or something like that. If there isn't, go online and see if there are any tags you can add to the "Target" line of your game shortcut that would allow it to run in windowed mode. That's really it, varies for different games. Or you know... just google it "Run ____ in windowed mode"

All Games Save The Settings if your game doesn't save settings try running it as administrator (ONLY IF YOU TRUST THE CREATOR)
and try searching "{GAME NAME} command line" if the game have a command to run it in windowed then write it and you're set to go for example %GAME EXE% -windowed
