I'm trying to hack the game dungeons 2 to get extra gold. after scanning with data type set to all, i found 2 addresses of float value which store the gold. I change both the values to a particular amount and return to the game, but the gold remains the same, when it increases or decreases that same value is written over what i changed on the addresses. so since the values of both addresses keeps changing i'm sure that's not some display value address and the actual address.
Is there a way i can change the gold values and keep them constant?

Dungeons 2 loads a server process called mono.exe which contains the actual addresses you need to change.
Attach to that instead.
