Looking for constructive criticism. I was quite happy with how it turned out but I felt like something was off. What do you guys think?

I see discrepancy in the amount of detail in some assets.
Even though I'm not really digging that theme, I get it. Doodly slightly creepy style.
Reminds me of what we used to expect from good flash games.

True that, but style overall kind of helped ignore it. I could always go back and give it a polish but lately I just want to do and release.

Sort of, I always liked it(especially in animation) but it was actually a natural process(not forced or anything, but I guess that's what I draw like) I haven't been part of this scene in a long time. What would be a game with a current trending style or what can you show me to catch up in all these last years in terms of 2D web/mobile games?

have you seen the material design proposal ?

also look at:
Angry birds, cut the rope, trivia crack,
The art style is clean and flat.

Ahh I was talking more specific and now. I've seen those games and not really what I was asking. Although those styles are the most selling ones now right?
I made this gui pack to test the waters and got 20 sales so far so I guess that style sells.



I still rather continue doing what I'm doing since it's natural and the style will always adapt to how I feel like drawing in the moment. Maybe I can fuse it with flat designs and create something different but still sort of in trend.

Yep, that's the style that sells the most currently.
Though it is not a perfect formula.

Instead of doing shots in the dark (if you are working on this rather than doing it for practice and/or recreation value), if I were you I would do a couple of style reference sheets and work on complete packs upon requests.

I like the animation style, but the colors could be more visually pleasing.

Thanks, thats true! Mainly for selling though, I think I like them being unpleasant if I continue using them for something personal. It was kind of on theme with what I was thinking when I made it.
