I'm traveling to Poland in 20 days for class. Would you guys get a local SIM card or an ATT international data plan seeing that I will only be in Poland for 10 days?

I would just use texting apps like TextMe, skype (if you're going to have wifi), and hotel phones/home phones. Maybe get a prepaid card if necessary for emergencies.

local, I traveled to the US and getting an AT&T data plan was probably the best investment.
Compared to the international rates I was going to get from roaming.
for persepective, I stayed 5 days and the plan was only 40$ for 1GB of LTE which was plenty for just 5 days so I abused it.
it would have cost me over 100$ on roaming to use as much data.

And the first day it was really stressing without a data plan. As I moved using uber and I pretty much needed to get my phone working.

If your phone is sim unlocked the get a provider like red pocket wireless or h2o wireless. I'm not sure which network frequency would be best for your location though

I hate wireless providers who don't offer unlimited data, or if they do it's at gouging prices. data is not that expensive, especially not to the point where they charge us as much as they do.

Get one from play, top it up for 10$ and you will get 500MB internet. Also if you're in range of LTE you should have unlimited data.
