The game is Might & Magic X.
If you have a 32 bit system the graphic cap is set to MEDIUM, and you cannot set to HIGH. I dissected the game folder and found that hi-res texture is still here, so i was thinking to use Cheat Engine to change the value to HIGH anyway, but i don't know where to start to trace this setting.
I already know this can cause crash and other slow game performance, i don't really care, i just want to know ho to do it.
Help is appreciated, tnx. |

You can try scanning for:
0 = LOW
1 = MEDIUM
2 = HIGH
On 1 Byte value type of course |

Well, but graphical settings often have many memory locations, so perhaps you'll produce bugs or just change the display value of it.
Using the game's own procedures is far more safe ... |

Tnx LemonMan, tryed that but after reducing the address list no one of them is changing anything.
@hhhuut:
By game own procedure did you mean the UI setting bar? Is not avaible. Dev took it off for 32 bit interface and changing setting file don't give any results.
I was wondering how to pinpoint a value knowing only that the value as changed after the UI interaction.
Do you think i can put some hook on the graphic interface? |

Yes, seem they put some "safe switch" for commercial/safeguard reason.
I've got a workaround using a external .dll but.. i'm not happy, i wanted to use cheat engine potential: other software may present in the future with the same problem and i want to learn how to hack them as well. |
