Hi there, complete n00b so apologies if I failed to find this because I was searching for the wrong terms or posted in the wrong place.
I was looking at hacking Idle Mine on Kongregate, very simple shockwave based game.
I've managed the simple hack for Gems and for low values of cash, however I can only hack cash to $268,435,455 (which is the limit of a 32-bit signed integer / 8 ) When the value gets higher than this, the address which had been cash goes through a range of values I can't decipher. Always 8 digits and ranging from just over 47mil at the lowest to just under 90mil at the highest.
Any ideas how I can hack the cash to higher values than this? I'd really like to be able to get into the duodecillion region and beyond (without hacks I was in the decillion region).

that money you wrote should be in the 4-byte range of 32-bit integer, have you tried 8-byte?

Changing the type on the address to 8 byte causes the shockwave to become unresponsive. Searching as an 8-byte doesn't find any address which moves along with cash value.

ok, that could mean that the game storing the money at more addresses if greater than, so you have to find that part and game logic how it is calculated,
one solution is: set it at the max value you can and take a look at the memory viewer, now observe how the values changes near you found address when you earn in the game more money as you can type (max), by observing the values you have to find out now what values have changed and why and in what condition is it with you first money address

You have the same problem as this User
Check:
cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=573251
I told the User to use that method. But for you at the Beginning of the Scanning. Change the preferences first.
First Scan:
Scan Type: Unknown Initial Value
Value Type: All
Next Scan:
Scan Type: Increased/Decreased Value
Note - Try changing the values first before going to the "Next Scan".
P.S. - Try Practicing the Tutorial first before asking

I forgot one thing you can't figure out what address it is. Because the Display Value and Actual value are different. It's kind hidden like Plants Vs. Zombies for example.
