|
|
I don't exactly know what it means when I am told to tick the flag ZF [x] []
or ZF [x] [x]
Basically I am given an address that I searched up through AoB on CE.
I open up memory viewer, and go to the top half part, (The part not filled with countless bytes and digits).
I search for the address I found and then I right click to change register at this address.
Now I have many white rectangular boxes and a column on pairs of two letters such as ZF or SF.
ALL OF THE BOXES ARE FILLED BLUE.
(There is only 1 box for each pair of letter)
I am not sure if that represents ZF [] [] or something else.
I really want to know if every box must be blank and then 1 box has a tick for V to show that it is ZF [x].
In essence I am looking for a very simple explanation, even I know my question has a simple answer!
Thank you for any advice concerning the situation.

Hello Mukuro123!
Modifying the Zero Flag (ZF) is a nice way we use to control the flow of execution without actually changing any of the code in memory! It is usually used in games where memory modification is detected(with the game terminating upon detection). So you either need a bypass, or you can use your four debug registers!
When it says to 'Tick ZF [X] [ ]' at a certain address, it wants you to force ZF to always be set. When 'Tick ZF [X] [X]', it's saying force ZF to always be NOT set! Think of the two X's as canceling each other out.
I see where the confusion can come in though, because in previous versions of cheat engine it accepted this register change slightly differently.
Previously it looked like this:
Where as now it's like this (and this is actually the valid way for Tick ZF [X] [ ]):
A square in the checkbox means no change (how it normally is). If you click on any of the flags checkboxes it changes to a checkmark (SET) then to an empty box (NOT SET) then back to filled in with a square (NO CHANGE)
That should help!
