seriously bad and cheesy as fuck, and is completely overrated, they took a good concept and made the movie a generic plot line shit, I dont know how good the book its based off of is, but the drug that makes you focused concept could be executed so well and have something that no ones done before, but instead its a movie about a dead beat who rises to the top with his 'ultimate weapon' as the only thing to differentiate the movie
its basically a shit over simplified Pi , which was a great movie that gets hated on because people say its 'too complicated' maybe thats why limitless is so great for them because its just an action movie with a pill in it which might as well been adderall for the adhd fuck main character, obviously in real life theres people who become senators and shit so why did the pill even need to be in there, the movie would be better if it was a realistic drama, but instead it uses a pill to skip all character development
the only thing I liked about the movie was how they basically had a filter on for when the character was not on the drug, but it becomes meaningless and unimpressive because the character is on the drug for almost the entire movie, because it apparently had no side effects if it was used correctly which removed all the intensity from the movie, and since the action sequences were generic 'person gets chased from new york' or 'gets attack by mob' left the movie being boring as fuck

Thanks for the warning. Was actually planning on watching it because rotten tomatoes suggested it in "Movies like The Matrix, Inception".
No movie to watch this weekend, I call a day like this an "Empty Friday"...

Why are you saying this now I watched this movie in 1080p like 2 years ago and didn't you also and you said it was great
I thought it was great better than most of the shitty movies that are shat out of Hollywood weekly

Ive planned on watching it since its release, maybe I said the trailer looked great, because at the time it did, but since then I've watched a fuckton of better movies.
I don't think its better than the shitty movies, with super hero movies you get enough action to make it fun, with this movie it was the same cheeseyness of a super hero movie but with way less action and no suspense

thats not what the movies abut at all, I wish it was because Im interested in stuff like that, but the origin of the drug isn't explored at all or even what it is or how it works, the drug is only there to speed up the plot of a guy who gets his shit together to become senator
@guywithlongname: Limitless isn't similar to either of those movies because it doesn't explore its own plot device, in the Matrix its explained what the matrix is etc., in Inception they talk about the inception and the aspects of it, but in Limitless they don't explore the drug at all, which is annoying not because it makes the movie hard to understand, but instead it oversimplifies it because you have so little information.
If you want a movie similar to those, watch Pi (1998) or Solaris (1972) because they both go into good detail of what the extraordinary aspects are to make the film more interesting

Yeah its certainly not the best movie or even the the category of best movies but it was worth the watch and I think people liked the idea/concept of out smarting others whether it be naturally or through a device
Like other movies and shows take suits for example
One of the main characters Mike Ross has a photographic memory
That naturally gives him a 1 up in many situations now its for sure not the only reason its a popular show I love it for many other reasons but it certainly is a small part
