Cheat Engine

Hi guys!

Im trying to learn how to find out the pointers. So im using the Cheat Engine Tutorial to learn it. Im using the Step 2!

First, i find out the address that show me the value. So i closed the tutorial and opened it again and checked that the address is differente, so i can assume it's a pointer right?

So....i started again and :

1. Found the address 0187DCFC
2. Clicked Show what write to thi address
3. Changed the value and obtained:

00422765 - E8 86A0FEFF - call Tutorial-i386.exe+C7F0
0042276A - 40 - inc eax
0042276B - 29 83 64040000 - sub [ebx+00000464],eax <<
00422771 - 8D 45 D4 - lea eax,[ebp-2C]
00422774 - E8 E712FEFF - call Tutorial-i386.exe+3A60

Probably Pointer 0187D898

4. Got the 0187D898 and checked "HEX" and scanned it.
5. Found a green address: 00690320
6. Double clicked it and check "Pointer"
7. Added "464" where it was "0" (offset)

The result was P>0000000000 ??

What's wrong?

New values (I restarted the tutorial):

EAX=00000001
EBX=0036D898
ECX=00000000
EDX=00000000

got the same "HEX" using 0036D898 -> 00690320

So i use 00690320 as base and 464 as offsite right?

i got a new number (im using it with a memory read function in autohotkey) and it displayed the correctly HP!

Then i restarted the tutorial to test the pointers, but now it's returing "0".

Almost there Isn't the propouse of finding the pointer to don't have to find the memory address every time i reset the application?



Found 2 dif values after all steps:

1)0x0036DCFC

2)0x018CDCFC
