Metro 2033 messed up my monitor resolution

idk why but metro 2033 at one point and when I ctrl alt deleted to the desktop with task manager to close it, there were two black columns at the sides of my monitor. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers, and nothing. I searched it up and nothing I found worked. Its either fix it or live with it or get a new monitor but I cant get a new monitor. Please help.

Right click desktop, screen resolution, advanced settings, monitor tab, uncheck hide resolutions that the monitor can't display.

Thanks didn't need to do the uncheck resolutions option since the max resolution was available anyway, I'll make sure to remember to do that next time it happens.
