For someone who tries really hard to be a "retro gamer" I sure have the fucking touch of death when it comes to the NES.

A while ago in June, I go to this good used game store the town over, I buy the nicest looking NES of the three they had in stock, because fuck it, I'm not going to do much better than 50 bucks on ebay, right?

So I get home eagerly awaiting to play it, I plug it in, and it doesn't fucking power on. The fucking power supply is dead. I drive back to the store, they give me another power adaptor, I plug it in, and instead of mario three, I get flashing colors. What does that mean? The fucking 72 pin connector is dead.

So I drive back to the store, they give me another NES, I get home I plug it in, and what do I get? Motherfucking flashing colors.

I drive back for the third time, and I tell them no, we are trying this out right now. In the store. So we plug the fucker in, and lo and behold: flashing colors. The store had three NESs and all of them had dead pin connectors. Jesus fuck, did they even try them out when they got them? Did they all come from the same person? I mean jesus christ, I drove back and forth to this place 3 times, I practically used more than 50 bucks of gas. It's a good thing I don't pay for gas, or else I wouldn't even have any money left to buy an NES at all.

Fast forward 5 weeks, I come back from camp, I order an NES advertised by a top seller as "working great".

It comes in the mail 4 days later.

It doesn't fucking power on.

It's a fucking brick, the guy tells me to try a different power supply, it worked really well for him.

I'm like, fucking no. Fuck you, this power supply is fucking fine. Pack up your fucking consoles better next time you asshole, and don't expect me to be buying anything from you again.

I think I've just about given up on the NES.

Oh right, and my SNES died yesterday. That's the punchline.
