How do I cheat?

Now, I want to hack the energy in Everybody Edits. I tried it before but it did not work. HERE IS WHAT I DID:

1. Opened up the Everybody Edits window as the process
2. Typed in the value of the energy that i had
3. Bought something that costed energy at the shop
4. Did the next scan with the value of energy i had then
5. The results would come up blank

Thats what i did. Am i doing something wrong? How can i hack the energy? I want to hack the amount i have. If i could hack the maximum energy that would be great as well.
