I have a negative float value (-720)
and I have a positive float value (100)

when I try and add those two together I get some weird value (0.454972661), the game crashes, or I get another weird value (0.23218645-E1).

here's another example:

eax = -720 float
ecx = 100 float
add eax,ecx
???

Look into using fadd
