You can't really make them any faster. VirtualQueryEx is not used for getting the value of an address.
If you were memory scanning then yes - VirtualQueryEx would help speed things up, because you could then check if it is protected memory, etc.
You could move to a DLL instead by using DLL injection. Then you would have direct memory access.

I believe that would just be the same speed if not slower. If done for every read/write.
What is your reason for not using the DLL entirely?
Also what are you doing that makes your read/writes so time critical?
