Nah it came out in November of 2011 I believe.

So I got it 3 days after it released, and that was when my school break was going to start, so I no lifed it for a couple weeks... then I started playing it everyday for like 7-9 hours.. then it turned to 1 month of playing and I already became 10th prestige.. and finally traded it in for Skyrim.

I think they're both great games... but
Skyrim: I fucked my gaming experience with this because of all the glitches you can do... (DO NOT DO GLITCHES TO YOUR ADVANTAGE, IT WILL RUIN THE GAME TRUST ME)
MW3: It's a fun game.. gets repetitive over and over but there's something about it that makes you want to play it over and over and over...I just hate the BS that happens in it (dying by airstrike while INSIDE a room with a secure roof, tryhards, etc)
