/g/ thread
I just replaced 6 leaked capacitors on an old dell 8300 with new ones, which were bigger and had 25v as opposed to 6.3v. They were still 820µF.
I turned it on and got this error; not sure where to go now. Googling the error code tells me I should replace the cmos battery. This makes sense, it wasn't turned on for at least 4 months and the battery hasn't been replaced (computer is 5+ years old).
I haven't replaced it yet because I don't want to take the battery out of a working computer, especially if that isn't the problem.
Do you need any more information about the computer? Ask for it.

After a minute or so, the computer reboots and shows this, and says something like:
Alert! The system failed to boot previously with this config/etc.
Here's the PnPl (lowercase L) error that appears on the second boot.

Here's some more pictures.

Reset the cmos battery and now the only errors are diskette drive 0 seek failure and keyboard failure.
Suggestions?
I unplugged the disk drives, and it turns on and goes to the XP login!
Keyboard still isn't recognized, I have to find a PS/2 keyboard.
