My current Typing speed is 55+.

But I want to increase my typing speed. I am practicing hard, But i don't see any markable results...

I am playing typeracer and i often see someone whose speed is not more than 45-50 but his best speed is 85.

Though my speed is more than him.. but i never managed to achieve speed more than 66 words per minute..

Any idea?

Without being a professional typist I think it would be hard to get over 85.

The other thing to consider is genetics, some people just have thin long spindly finders that are perfect for typing. No matter how good you got you would never be able to beat them. It'd be like being 5'9" and trying to dunk on shaq, it's just not gonna happen.

Even with professional typing courses and years of practice I do not believe I could get better than 70 due to my finger size and length.

This is surely not good.
Typing software are no use to me. They only decrease my typing speed nothing else.

But my finger are thin and long.. still my typing speed is only 55+.
though i am practicing hard.

Typing speed for me is inbetween 75-90, depends on the keyboard. Right now my keyboard is pretty sucky :\ But I have really small hands because I'm naturally small in size.

I think that you have to be an expert or seasoned typist to get to the 85 words level. 60 is not bad considering that the average would probably be logging 30 to 35 words.

I think my rate is at 60 words per minute though I am already contented with it. I do play those types of games as well. But nerves always get the better of me, resulting in rather lower scores.

I been typing on the computer as long as I can remember. My maximum speed is +99 WPM, Average speed is +85 WPM. Could never break that limit though so I won't be able to tell you how to improve yourself.

I think we inherit our skills and its limit from our natural body structure. I guess that's why there's a saying that's been going around, " Need to know your limit." Some people don't care about this saying and end up dead.
