>5 page essay

It was on Frankenstein, and was probably the worst possible prompt. It was something along the lines of "who had the bigger god complex, Frankenstein or the creature?"

Anyone who's read the book will realize that that's utter bull. Neither character had a god complex.

So whatevs, had to pick the creature and bend story elements to make it fit like a god complex. Still bullshit, so many other good prompts possible with that book. It's a waste to write so much if it's about a crap argument.

Unfortunately no. I asked if I could write an essay explaining why they do not have god complexes, but was unable too.

I still threw in a paragraph or two on why I don't think Frankenstein had a god complex though. In passing it's acceptable, but not as the main argument.

It was only a "day one" prompt to make things fairly simple. The assignments get better through the year. Class really starts tomorrow with us reading Beowulf

If they made one that followed the book, I'd enjoy it. The book is sooooo much different from Hollywood's representation.

EDIT: Oh you're talking about beowulf
EDIT 2: Still applies

You clearly did not understand the finer elements of the book.
