4 main types. AP Casters =mage, Carry= range dps, Tank= guy who charges in and doesn't afraid or anything but deals no dmg, tanky dps= tanky melee that do good dmg and take a beating

Tanks typically have a form of CC. CC is Crowd Control and that is stuns, taunts, knockups, throws, sleeps(no hero with these yet), etc.
This is a team game like DotA so no, tanks don't draw AI aggro they draw player aggro. Although of course if the carry is dying to AI you draw AI aggro.

A carry is essentially the one who "carries" the team to victory. They deal the most damage be it AD or AP(yes there are AP carries).
The tank wants to initiate fights(typically) and they want to be as beefy and resistant as possible so that they can draw the fire from the more vulnerable teammates.
AD carry is a dps or burst hero who deals physical damage through the stat "Attack Damage"(AD). For example Ashe or Corki. Melee champions can be carries too but currently ranged ones are better for carrying.
AP carry is a dps or burst hero who deals magical damage through the stat "Ability Power"(AP). For example Annie, Akali, Brand, Malzahar. Some AP heroes can also be played hybrid for example Akali. Hybrids have skills that scale(in damage) with both attack damage and ability power.
A support hero is one who supports the team. They heal, shield and give mana back to the teammates. Some can also buff teammates for example Nidalee's heal which also increases attack speed or Zilean's Time Warp which increases the movement speed of the target.
AP = Ability Power
AD = Attack Damage
AS = Attack speed
CDR = Cooldown Reduction
Creeps = AI controlled units on both teams that move down the lanes
Turrets = towers at certain points in the lane killing these grant global gold and EXP
Inhibitors = rax
Top, mid and bot = the lanes, which ones should be obvious.
Jungle = the area in-between lanes including dragon and baron spawns
to jungle = to start out in the area between lanes and kill neutral creeps instead of pushing lanes
Dragon = a big AI controlled monster that gives global gold and oftenly requires 2 or more to kill(can be solo'd late-game though)
Baron = the biggest AI controlled monster gives global gold and exp plus a buff. When you have Baron you can oftenly push to win the game since the buff makes you stronger.
Pushing = to kill the enemy creeps in the lanes eventually leading your own creeps to the enemy turrets and destroying them
BD(to backdoor) = Attacking the enemy turrets without your creeps, bypassing or ignoring the enemy creeps.
