|
|
Birthday coming up soon, thinking about updating something on my comp. Either GFX card, Proc, or mobo.
My current gfx card is a Gigabyte HD 4850, I was thinking of upgrading to 4850 x2 since I have a micro-atx and have no plans on getting anything bigger
Mobo. Currently OEM, meaning no overclock abilities. Suggest one, keep it on the cheap, micro-atx
Proc. Want something to work with this mobo http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01357119 OR an AMD Proc./Mobo combo.
My budget will most likely be around 150 dollars. Help me out guise. :3

Hmm, never really cared much about DX11. I'm more of a budget gamer, my computer up to this point has been nearly free from scavenging. I've only had to by the 4850. I've decided to put some money into it.
Also, there seems to be a 4870x2 I can get for 150, much like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102768

| You dont have to care for it. Besides, I upgraded my 4850 also. That 6850 I got is god like compared to it. That and I oc'd it, but it was pretty good before then.

Do you have a cpu/mobo recommendation, just in case?

Hero, does the 6850 support DX11?

No, can't crossfire because micro-atx
It's called a 4850x2 or 4870x2, it's basically a dual gpu single pcie card.

| Anything higher than 5000 series supports dx11 and anything higher than 5800 I think supports 3d.

Erm no. Looking for a micro Atx and a dual core 3.2ghz+
for around 150 bucks little higher probably won't hurt.
EDIT: after looking at a few reviews and suck, I think I'm going with the 4870x2. It seems to be on par with the 5870 which is better than 6850.
I'll also save 30 bucks that way..at the cost of DX11, but I'm a budget gamer first and a graphics whore second. If I'm going to upgrade, I should future proof in raw power instead of future proof in features.
EDIT: Nevar mind, don't have a psu up to a dual gpu card ;-;

Think I'll go with a 6850, seems like a solid upgrade and is about the same power usage...I also want to beat hero's OC
I'm probably not going to worry much about a Proc/mobo upgrade. I only wanted it to play a ps2 emulator, but I'm starting to realize it's still hard to get games running perfectly, so why waste perfectly good components.

| I could go higher but eh, 1000mhz should secure I can run any gpu heavy game. I have even tested and running at 1080p, even though my current monitor is not. Ran all my games on a 42inch tv and they ran flawless.
