I was going to test for my learner's permit today (for driving) but they told me I'd have to take at least 6 hours of driver's education first. I was also planning on having my parents teach me to drive which (before) would opt me out of the road skills course (where you ride with a cop and he/she judges your driving skills). But nope. Turns out he law changed recently and I'd have to ride with a cop no matter what now. Plus my 18th birthday is in 20 days anyway which means there wouldn't be enough time to qualify for a permit... which happens to take 20 days.

So now I'll have to take 6 hours of bullshit online courses even though I've already passed all of the practice tests just fine and I know everything they'll teach. I'll still practice driving with my parents, but I'll have to wait till I'm 18, which isn't too long from now. Then I'll have to sit with a cop... I can already tell that's gonna fuck up my day. I don't take stress very well and I'll probably get clumsy and break something.

All of this bullshit is the same reason I put off learning to drive for so long in the first place. So mad.

why get a license?

still have to wait 12 months (if under 18?) until you are legally aloud to ferry your friends

if you are the first of your friends to get a license then you will be a friend with a benefit

Dude, consider yourself lucky.
I'm currently doing a fucking "graduated driver licensing program" course that takes a fucking month, then you have to drive with your parents for 6 months...

And I have an asshole teacher, so that makes it worse.
