|
|
I need a program that's easy to use and able to produce a realistic 3d image that I can use later. I'm trying to avoid coding if possible, but at the same time I don't want MSpaint2 quality pictures. If the coding aspect is simple I can handle it though.
Any recommendations? Torrents via PM appreciated greatly!

I second this. Blender is awesome, though generally the 'art' programmers make with it is not.

I third that. Blender is good to start with before moving on to heavier stuff.

I worded my request poorly; I was looking for something like the results in this article.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_tracing_(graphics)
I'm aiming for highest photo realism with least effort/knowledge required.

Any renderer that isn't a gigantic pile of shit should have no problem producing pretty results, blender is no exception.
I'm sure you'll find that your results are limited by skill rather than what it can actually produce.

Maya 7?
It's relatively simple, only hard part for me is coloring the shapes. It's really fun.
edit: cant find it

Maya is a very useful program, and since it is mostly used within the cinematic trailers and what not that you look at when you look at new games - it renders pretty images.
The thing that will haunt you is your creativity and (probable) lack of skill within the program.
But if you're only going to create simple logos, you could easily stick with Maya.
(or 3DSMax, but I have no experience with that program.)

Blender is fucking impossible to use, but totally free and very powerful.
Gogo is right about max though, it's the best if you can code.

3ds max is slowly eating maya since autodesk bought it xP
but maya is a bit better than 3dsmax when modeling.
but like I said, for example 3dsMax 2010 implemented lots of modeling tools that were only Maya and maya is stuck there.
mostly its because Autodesk wants to monopolize and started buying the other companies. it already bought the most powerful competence that was maya and softimage.
well anyways there is ppl that likes blender
but really blender is the black sheep of the 3Dworld
its interface is completely different form other 3D programs that usually are pretty the same but just you need to get to know where is everything.
blender is ... gahhhh when I tried it .. I took almost a whole day to discover how to select a thing! >.>......
