If I have the physical copy of Sims 3, will I be able to use the expansion packs if I buy them on steam?

I could probably just pirate them, but I like convenience.

Though actually I pirated one of the expansions a while ago. Could I use that as well as the steam ones? Or is trying to use 3 sources of games not a good thing.

Nope expansion on steam only work with the original on steam.
Just pirate the expansions.
