| my friends dad is an idiot and wont give my friend the password so how do you brute force a router password? brutus didn't really work

| All he has to do is get on his dads pc, go to the routers ip address, and look at the wireless security settings. It will display the passcode and hex.

| also its not the password to the wireless, its the password to log in to the router. like admin/password. should have mentioned that

If the dad already changed the default log in information, there would be no way to find it unless he wrote it down somewhere. You would need to use a key logger.
I wouldn't use brute force. I doubt you have that much time.

| Reset the router, put in a new password, and give the password to your friend. If your friends dad asks for the password, don't give it to him. That'll teach him.

There's a small button on the back of the router, press it with a sharp object, and the router should reset. Go into command prompt, and type "ipconfig" look for the default Gateway, enter that into your address bar, it should tell you what type of router that you're logging into, google the default login information for that type of router, once you have it login, and everybody walk the dinosaur.
