Can I make a burnt dvd bootable?

I already burnt win7 to a dvd just to find out it needs to be bootable, wasted a dvd.

Also how do I make a new (not burned yet) one, bootable?

Put CD in, edit BIOS to make CD's top priority. It'll load the W7 from the disk.

I tried that, I removed all boot options except CD/DVD. Then it beeped and said no operating system found.

Did you burn the .iso to the DVD? And did you make sure the image works and is actually bootable?

I burned the iso to the DVD
should i not have used microsofts DVD burner (built in)?
