I have just had a haircut and it is amazingly short, is there some way that you know of to speed up my hair growth?

Having a haircut is pretty much the one thing that speeds up hair growth, since all your split ends are trimmed.
Hair grows about 6-8" per year. You'll just have to wait.
I have no scientific source for this but it has been said that calcium will speed up hair growth.

Actually, shaving regularly doesn't speed it up.

Peanut butter and lemon juice. 3 parts peanut butter 1 part lemon juice, one egg white. Apply liberally.
Seriously, nothing you can do but wait. You could try to take prenatal vitamins, but I think they do more for hair health than speed growth.

Cutting your hair doesn't make it grow faster.
Some things you can do to try to help make it grow:
- Diet: Fruits, vegetables, Fish
- Foods high in protein.
- Biotin (vitamin B pills)
- Shampoo / Conditioner with vitamin B and other soft ingredients.
Keep a regular schedule and routine, get proper amounts of sleep and overall be healthy etc.

Cutting your hair doesn't make it grow faster, but it will slow down how long the ends take to disintegrate because they hold together better when they are freshly trimmed. Which means you'll have longer hair in a shorter period of time.
Also the foods/vitamins thing is a myth. Wth is vitamin B going to do for your hair? Especially in a shampoo/conditioner? Vit. B can't be absorbed through the hair. The best thing to get is shampoo/conditioner that is less damaging, so that the fragile ends of your hair will break off less easily, and this mainly only applies to long hair.

Lol? The ends of your hair aren't what grow, the roots from your scalp do. Trimming your hair does nothing to help it grow. If anything it reduces growth since it puts stress on your scalp which declines hair growth.

Your hair isn't what absorbs the vitamins, your scalp does. Which in turn helps with the growth given that your pours are clean and healthy.

He didn't say they grow, he only said that they disintegrate. Meaning damage done to hair due to factors outside of the human body.
And you're right about the roots growing from your scalp, that is correct.

Your hair is just excreting proteins.
Eating excessive amounts of protein will make your hair and your fingernails grow healthy and fast.

Considering 80% of your body is already water, and over-hydrating yourself can lead to death. I wouldn't go overboard with "watering" yourself down.

Itapa already corrected you but you did remind me of something else that improves hair growth, which is scalp massages.
Massaging your scalp encourages hair to grow faster.
Also, skin is designed to keep things out. Only vitamins A, D, and E can be absorbed through the skin. While they may be absorbed by the outer layer, I'm doubtful that they can actually reach the bloodstream.

But keeping well hydrated would help right?
