At what point did Minecraft become so mod reliant. I haven't played Minecraft in a few months, so I'm not up2date on this shit.
I think it's good that Notch is allowing modders to be such a big part of this game, but it's gotton to the point where the modders have done more then Notch has. It's like he released a source, but still updates and owns everything run with it.

And I think Notch is generally a very lazy man. He picked a profession that involves spending most of your time on the computer, coding for loots, and getting money for doing so. He's constantly taking vacations, I mean, really, I bet he's taken more vacations then most of Europe.

Minecraft is not what it started as. It has some very nice improvements, improving gameplay from just those blocks we've had for almost all of Alpha, to the new Beta blocks, giving us more variety, but there is also alot of issues on Notch's part.

Not to be a kiss ass, but he has to do a lot more stuff because of Minecraft. Meetings, interviews, conventions, family, etc etc. Notch doesn't really treat Minecraft seriously, that's why the development is so slow. He isn't a very good business man either. When he started Minecraft, he didn't expect it to be this big and be turned into a multi-millionaire. Personally I think he should hire a couple more programmers, and speed up development a bit because Minecraft is a mainstream game now. Well, anyway. Basically goes like this:

Notch > Couple New Mobs > Bugfixes
Modders / Everyone else > New Mobs > New Features > New everything.

Notch bugfixes and Modders take on feature development. Literally XD

Also, really, each mod is made by a separate person, or by more than one person. The modding community as a whole has done more than notch, but that's hundreds of people.

Really though, I understand where he's going with this.
The actual developer of the game should be the one with the most power.

Mods are great and all, but they're gone by the next OFFICIAL update...
And that sucks having to wait for your previous features to be REMADE into the newest version of minecraft.

What he should do is take some of teh better mods (Betterlight, Bettergrass, Humans+, Mo creatures, Aether[Concept] etc.) and add them officially.

Notch actually adds creative things to the game whereas mods add useless generic RPG shit.
