Hey, I'm trying to make a human head in PS.
I've been using a skull as my base for the silhouette, and then i started doing the skin.
So far, how does this look?
It's missing the nose area, i know.
All i want to know here is if the shadows/skin tones are looking alright for now in regards to how a normal human head would be colored. It will be darkened later on to provide a tanned look, but for now this is just the color base for the facial shadows that I got.
PS:
In now way is this supposed to be a full on realistic drawing, it's meant to be more cartoonish, but with actual human qualities implemented in it.

So far it looks like a pink blurry skull with a red outline. Not much to critique yet.

You're not meant to be looking for a skull D:
Read the description ._.
What i need to know is if the facial shadows look natural so when I add the actual facial features, it doesn't look like it's a one colored face with no shades or light. (hope you can understand this)
Only then will I feel comfortable starting on the other features. o.o

The colors need more contrast, definitely. But that stuff is generally worked on as you develop the rest of the features.

Sigh...
Do the shadows look natural?
Or better way to reword this:
If a light was being cast down from the upper right side, would the shadows casted by the face's skeletal structure give off the appearance i tried to give with my colors?(actual colors will be touched on after I've constructed the face and I can envision such a person actually existing.)
Reason I haven't added any actual features yet is because I need to feel comfortable getting the tones(not the colors) right in order for me to get some sense of a spatial map on what goes where, what size, and in what proportion. If I draw outlines, it looks awkward. If i let the face develop, it takes on a natural appearance.
So I started working on the shadows, and then I'll develop the more exact details.
-This is the first time i've ever tried to do anything like this-

Very gaunt, and the outline is definitely a black dude so rework the tones.

eyes must be worked. add more "skin" in the eye hole and let it in a natural shape > google it.

cant comment on the incomplete in this state.
this could be the start of something good or something very very bad.
