My mom, dad and 2 sisters were there. I calmly explained my reasoning and kept the conversation light, throwing in jokes and stuff. I could see they were shocked and I thought everything was fine.. until my dad jumped up, ran into the kitchen and put a knife to my stomach, and told me to the fuck out. My mom and my sisters didn't say a word, just looked at me in disgust.
See what religious indoctrination does? It destroys a parents natural desire to love their children if they differ in opinion. This is ridiculous and upsetting.
Now im living with a friend because i've been disowned, though i still dont regret my decision. Its just hurts to lose my family for such an insignificant reason.
Anyone in the same situation?

Be like "What happened to Jesus loves everyone? If you really worshiped him, you should act like him. What kind of fucked up parents despise their own flesh and blood?"

You blame religion when your parents are willing to drop you? It's just the means, you should really be wondering if your parents are worth it if they're willing to disown you over a matter of faith.
Of course, that's ignoring Augustine's comment. :c

Pretty much my parents. My mother is your typical nagging middle-aged woman who, when you have her on the phone, will start talking about her ailments that sound incredibly bogus. Meanwhile my dad had chemo twice between 1995 and 1999, and worked till last february despite being tired as fuck. He got offered a buyout for 200.000 euros, and now he's taking a long vacation, and is going to be a chocolatier together with my sister. They plan on opening a small store/shop in september.
They have been the most supportive parents in the history of ever.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_the_Netherlands . It's awesome. My parents do not believe in any particular religion either. They sent us to a christian school though. They found the stories of the (new) testament to provide decent guidelines on right and wrong. But to them, and to me now, they are just that: stories.

| Your dad is just simply confused, seems to me that he was trying to force you to be a christian physically... I don't think they will really commit to kicking you out though give it a few days.
