Most people can only live without sleep for 10 days.
You'll die sooner from sleep deprivation then you would from starvation.

After 3-4 days you will start properly suffering. After around 6 days you may suffer some irreversible damage. We did this in psychology. it's a stupid thing to do.
Also what if yo do bear the record, You won't get recognized since no one was supervising you.

To break the record officially, you need to alert Guiness.
It needs to be public, and filmed.
It probably has to be supervised by doctors and psychologists.

I was a couple days off.
The record for the longest period without sleep is 18 days, 21 hours, 40 minutes during a rocking chair marathon. The record holder reported hallucinations, paranoia, blurred vision, slurred speech and memory and concentration lapses.
