Can I put windows 7 on my computer without wiping everything off my computer (Or at least off my J drive)?

when you install you should have a folder called windows_old or something? I don't remember.

But all your files from vista would be in there.

Yeah, you can do either a clean install or keep all your old files and programs. And they will be pretty much in the same place. It does take more time than a clean install though. I've installed Windows 7 on top of Vista with no problems.
