Not sure if this is classified as programming, but can anyone give me advice on how to make a platform that's "jump-through-able"?
Such as, like in Mario, the platforms are solid if your feet are on top, but you can jump through them from underneath.

| On collision with the platform add a condition to perform the action (in this case, stop moving, at least vertically) if the vertical direction of your player is down/south. can easily be done even with Game Maker events, no script needed.

Your collision method just needs to detect incoming direction of collision. You can determine that by the direction the object is moving towards the platform when they "collide".
