So I went in for an interview today. It was for a Psych depression study I signed up for that paid $20 an hour if I qualified. I had suspected for a while that I may be depressed.
After 2 hours of uncomfortable and emotional questions, I learned that I not only had Dysthymia but I may also have sleep apnea/disorder - commonly linked to Dysthymia. Well I guess it's good that I was diagnosed now. But now I talk my my physician and go in for a sleep study.
I also (most likely) don't qualify for the study because they were looking for people w/ major depressive disorder.
(why am I posting here? I don't feel uncomfortable telling my mom or friends yet but I needed to tell someone) |

No, should be happy face. You know I'm not sure why I had a sad face in the title, there's nothing really sad about this. 
I mean, her diagnosis wasn't a complete surprise aside from the sleep disorder. But the good thing about that, is sleep disorders may cause depression so if I have that looked at and treated, I may not have to go through therapy and/or take anti-depressants! |

She's a distinguished professor and researcher at my University, which is also fairly prestigious.
I was lucky that she sat in on the interview and that one focus of her research was sleep apnea. Usually it's done by one of the graduate students part of the study. This one was new so the professor wanted to watch her. |
