Pretty much this, the concept is really nice.
It's not the best, but it's a really nice game.
I prefer the first to the second.
And part two, to part one.

1 is better in a lot of ways, I dont think I could really say what I like more though
but yeah I like episode 2 more than 1

Death Match is free if you have an ATI card. So you could sort of try it out before you buy the actual Half Life 2.

I like the first one more because of the idea and the year it was made, how far the story goes and what it explains, really number two is just the sequel (of course) graphics it's way better, but honestly number one is better.
If you played it again, you would probably look at all the things you missed before and how far valve took it too the next step.
But that's just my opinion I guess, both were quite great though.
