I've remember reading from somewhere that thing is still a tadpole at its later stages.

Since they still live underwater, they still got the gills, once they turn to a fully developed frog, the gills disappear.

Even though I said it's still a tadpole, I could be wrong.

OP: Nice work!

looks more like a frog turtle

I kind of know where is the mistake. shading on the bottom part of the head.
The shadowing is too light and looks like it fades completely giving it an illusion of being more inflated than pushed in.

Ok fine, Lizardfrogturtle Rolling Eyes

@kls85, that isn't a frog... That's a salamander, or something of relation.

It is the salamander when it is a juvenile. If they find no adequate habit to support themselves, they will not change and live in axolotl form all through their adulthood otherwise they will develop into the adult version; a salamander as it is normally seen.

Pretty much what I had in mind, idk, I used to be really into amphibians and reptiles a while back (had tons of books and movies). Been years though, all that knowledge is blurred. So, I was uncertain.

Pretty cool thing though. They can breed as either axolotls or salamanders depending on the climate.
